Migration Services

Australia is a country of approximately 19 million people inhabiting a continent in the southern hemisphere of 7.7 million square kilometres.  Its climate ranges from hot dessert in the middle, tropical rainforest to the north, cool temperate forest and cold snowy mountain to the south of the continent.

Prior to European settlement in 1788, Australia was inhabited by Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders.  Nowadays, indigenous people live all over Australia together with migrants from over two hundred countries who speak over two hundred languages.  Today, Australia is a multicultural society with English as our official language.

Richard A Bobb has been providing migration services, especially to business people, since the introduction of accreditation of migration agents in late 1980s.  We were one of the first firms to attain registration by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (as it was then called) and became accredited migration agents.  Under that accreditation system, accredited migration agents were authorised to approve applications for business migration.  Since 1993, Katherine Chow, a partner, has become a registered migration agent when the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) was set up to replace the previous system of accreditation of migration agents.

There are various classes of visas to cater for different purposes for individuals and businesses.

Broadly, there are the Temporary and Permanent residence visas.  The main classes for temporary residence visa include visitors, students, and business.  For permanent residence visa, prospective migrants can apply under the skilled, business, family reunion (including spouse) and refugee or humanitarian categories.  Of course, for each main category, there are various sub-classes of visas.

Whether you are a business person in Australia wishing to sponsor skilled workers from overseas, for temporary or permanent residence, or an overseas business person who wishes to migrate to Australia under one of the various business migration classes, we will be able to assist.
